Ray Charles Robinson was born on September 23, 1930, in Albany, Georgia, the first child of Aretha and Bailey Robinson. He had one brother whose name was George. When Ray was about five, he and his brother were outside playing. His brother end up drowning in the wash bucket. Not long after his brothers drowning he began to lose his eye site. By the time he was seven, he lost all of his eye site. His mom died before he was 15. He moved out on his own at fifteen. he found it very have to live as a musician in florida. He moved to seattle to see if he could do something there. R. C. Robinson arrived in Seattle in March 1948, after a 5 day bus ride. He found a town he said was "really open and smokin." He quickly found himself a spot in the music community. In 1953 Ray published his first record, and sold a million copies. he picked2himself 12 Grammy Awards. He went on to become a great artist and preformer, and he died on June 10, 2004.
He had great success as a singer, song writer, and preformer.
He was having a hard time being a singer and paino player, but being blind. then after he became big. He started doing drugs, and people were taking his money. He over came that and became a very well known artist. It was a life changing moment when he started losing his eye site.
This person is very inspirational because i like to sing and he is one of the best to ever live, and his songs are fun to sing.
